Summer Storm
This vibrant landscape painting captures the raw beauty of nature in a way that is both captivating and slightly ominous. I was inspired to create this piece by my childhood memories of watching storms roll in over the prairies of southern Alberta. The contrast between the dark, brooding sky and the sunlit yellow canola fields always left me in awe. The way the storm would pass quickly, leaving the field bathed in a magical glow, was something I wanted to capture in my artwork.

Introducing “Otis”. This acrylic painting holds a special place in my heart. Its inspiration comes from my childhood memories growing up on a farm. We had horses, but I always loved hearing stories about my grandparents’ donkeys in the rustic mountains in Croatia.
Donkeys are such fun and hardworking animals. They’re playful and a bit mischievous, yet so reliable. In this vibrant and playful painting, you’ll see Otis up close with his big, wide eyes and perky ears. He looks so curious and full of life!

Twilight’s Embrace
Welcome to “Twilight’s Embrace”. For me, creating art is a humbling and exhilarating journey. With this piece, it included an exploration of the juxtaposition of colors, light, mystery and emotions. “Twilight’s Embrace,” is a 16×20 acrylic on canvas that seeks to capture ‘that moment’ when day transitions into night. The inspiration for this piece comes from my fascination with that magical time of day—twilight. It’s a period that hints at both endings and beginnings, where the warm hues of evening soften the bright colors of the day. This transition invites contemplation on the perpetual balance within nature and how we, too, can find solace, rest, and rejuvenation in this rhythmic cycle.

Unleashed Fury
"Unleashed Fury” portrays a breathtaking moment of nature’s incredible power and beauty, drawn from vivid childhood memories of summer storms on the Alberta prairies. Imagine standing in the vast openness of the prairies, the air thick with anticipation as the sky begins its dramatic transformation. “Unleashed Fury” embodies this very moment. The sky is alive with billowing clouds, swirling in a dance of raw energy.
Beneath this turbulent sky lies a serene and colorful field of flowers. The vibrant hues of the blossoms create a striking contrast to the ominous clouds above. Each petal and blade of grass celebrates the resilience and beauty of life that thrives even in the face of impending storms.
Adding a touch of humanity to this natural drama is a quaint blue-roofed house, nestled among a couple of steadfast trees. This scene not only grounds the viewer but also invites them to reflect on their own place within nature’s grandeur. I’m excited to tell you about my new painting, “Babe.” This 12×12 inch acrylic painting captures the joy and beauty in the simple things, like a playful little piglet! The inspiration came from the movie Babe. The film’s underlying theme of purity, innocence, and bravery are qualities I aimed to capture in this painting. The piglet’s heartwarming expression is central to the artwork and is brought to life with bold, textured brushstrokes in an impressionistic style. I wanted to show the lovable nature these often misunderstood creatures, and celebrate their beauty and spirit. I hope this painting brings you as much joy as it did to me while creating it.
