Meet the Artist – Susan Boras
I’m Susan Boras, a fine artist based in Canada, inspired by the beauty of nature, the joy of animals, and the quiet, meaningful connections that unite us all.
My path to becoming a full-time artist wasn’t linear. After decades in corporate leadership, coaching, and academia, I finally returned to my first love: creating art that speaks to the soul. Growing up on a farm in southern Alberta, I developed a deep love for the outdoors and animals—both of which continue to shape and inspire my work every day.
I paint to evoke emotion and invite reflection. Working primarily in acrylics, I use vibrant colour, rich texture, and expressive tools—palette knives, brushes, and even my hands—to bring each piece to life.
My work explores themes of human connection, memory, and the natural world, often rooted in moments of joy, wonder, and nostalgia. For me, art isn’t just something to see—it’s something to feel. Each painting is an invitation to pause, reconnect, and find beauty in both the everyday and the extraordinary.
