I painted Scarlet because I had to. There was no deeper reason than that. She demanded to exist on canvas and I obliged.
But the longer I sat with her, the more she made sense in this collection. Scarlet is a study in renewal on her own terms. She does not seek approval. She holds her ground, surveys her world with those extraordinary eyes, and moves through life with a quiet, unhurried confidence that most of us spend decades trying to find.
